Year 10 student Elisha shaved her head as part of the MacMillan Cancer Support national challenge ‘Brave the Shave’. Elisha has not only raised £900 for MacMillan Cancer Support but also donated 42cm of hair to be made into wigs. The hair she has donated will go to the Little Princess Trust- a charity which provides real hair wigs free of charge to children and young people who have sadly lost their own hair due to cancer treatment and other illness.

Elisha said: “I’m delighted to have raised £900 as my original target was £300. Lots of friends and family came to watch me shave my head at the Cadet Hut at Weeton Barracks and we also broadcast the event live for anyone who couldn’t be there. The support I received was incredible. Thank you to everyone who has donated.”

Headteacher Mr Waller said: “Well done to Elisha for doing something so selfless and helping others by raising money and donating her hair. I’m so pleased Elisha has surpassed her fundraising target and that people across the school and wider community have supported her efforts.”
