Year 10 BTEC students provided parents, carers, peers and staff with an evening to remember at this year’s Summer Music Concert. The pupils, who spent months preparing for the event as part of their BTEC qualification, helped to showcase the best musicians Carr Hill has to offer.

The evening included 22 performances from over 20 students and the 10-strong student orchestra. The audience filled the school hall and enjoyed performances to songs by Ariana Grande, Oasis, Wheatus and McFly. Students also covered songs from the musical Wicked and the musical film Greatest Showman as well as classics from the likes of the famous composer Beethoven.

Music Teacher Mr Brown said: “I would like to congratulate our BTEC students for a brilliant concert. They were responsible for all aspects of planning the event and running the evening itself- no easy task but they really stepped up. A big thank you goes to all the students who performed during the concert- I’m proud of every one of you. We had a great variety of performers covering a wide genre of music helping us to deliver one of our best summer concerts yet. Finally, thank you to our audience for supporting the students. I hope you enjoyed the evening as much as I did."
