Carr Hill students and their families have once again given generously to the school foodbank appeal.

Every year the school asks pupils to donate as little or as much as they can to help less fortunate families have a happier Christmas. This year has seen the largest donation yet with bags and boxes full of cans, jars, pasta, toiletries and more.

This week a group of students dropped off the large donation at the Preston Salvation Army branch with Minerva College Leader, Mrs Beesley, and Minerva Care Leader, Donna Shepherd. The pupils had the chance to meet Salvation Army staff and volunteers who were busy packing food and gift parcels for families across Preston. Staff and volunteers explained the process and how the donations given by Carr Hill would be used to help others.

Mrs Beesley said: “We have been running the foodbank appeal for a long time and each year we are overwhelmed by the kindness of our students and their families. Every donation made will go towards helping a family in need this Christmas. We would like to thank everyone who donated this year as you have enabled us to help others who are less fortunate.”
