Report by Year 13, Jack
Carr Hill High School and Sixth Form Centre has launched its very own student news channel, called CHTV! The show has been in development since October and the first episode can now be viewed through the school website and social media accounts now.

What is unique about the student news channel is that the students of the school run it. The idea is that by having the students run the show, it will appeal to other students.

The show has several roles on offer for students such as filming, presenting and editing. Myself, I have been working as one of the main presenters of the show. I have had such a good time working on the show as presenting is something I would like to get more involved in.

Meanwhile, Year 13, Samantha, is the editor for the show. She said: “Working for the show has been a new and invigorating experience. I have learnt a lot of transferable skills during the process. I'm looking forward to future instalments as being a part of the process is always exciting and different each week.”

The episodes include key sections which are a 30 Second News Update; a Challenging the Teacher Segment and What's On which lets students know what is going on around school.

The commitment from the students has been amazing and I cannot wait to present more episodes. This is something I have really enjoyed and I hope that the staff, students and the local community enjoy the content. We hope that the episodes are informative and fun for all who watch!
