Students at Carr Hill High School and Sixth Form Centre are making the most of the final few days of term, working hard to raise funds for the charity Text Santa.

Pupils have volunteered their time at Kirkham Morrisons, bag packing for customers in return for donations to the charity. Students have also organised a charity staff vs pupils football match and a netball team vs rugby team netball match. The organisers will ask staff and pupils to make a donation to Text Santa before watching both games which will take place during the final week of the school term.

Year 8 student Beth took part in the bag pack. She said: “We really enjoy raising money for charity and a good cause like Text Santa which helps six different UK charities every year.”

PE teacher Mrs Beesley said: “Our pupils are keen to raise money for charity and are very aware of others at this time of year. The students come up with their own fundraising ideas and work hard to make sure they are a success. I’m very proud of all of their efforts.”
