Year 10 Emily will perform on the BBC Music introducing stage at this year’s Lytham Festival having been selected by BBC music bosses.

Emily, who sent one of her songs, called Get out of my way, in to the BBC, has been selected alongside just a handful of other up and coming artists to perform on the introducing stage at the festival which will be broadcast on BBC Radio Lancashire.

The singer-songwriter has performed at a number of concerts and music venues in and outside of school as well as busking to promote her music.

Emily said: “This will be my biggest gig yet and I can’t wait to perform on the stage. It’s going to be an amazing experience and something I’m really looking forward to.”

Headteacher Mr Waller said: “I've seen Emily perform at many of our school concerts and she is a talented musician who is very deserving of this opportunity. I’m sure some of our students and staff will be at Lytham Festival and I hope they will go along and support Emily during her performance which we all wish her the best of luck with.”
