Year 9 and Year 10 students studying for their GCSE PE qualification were given the opportunity to attend a PE residential at Tower Wood and take part in rock climbing, abseiling and ghyll scrambling.

The residential is an opportunity for students to try the activities they will undertake as part of their practical assessment of the course. It is also a chance to build on skills such as teamwork and improve confidence in their abilities.

PE teacher Mr Doughty said: “The PE staff were impressed with the fantastic effort and attitude showed by all the students on the trip. Staff at Tower Wood also commented on this which was great to hear. The PE department is delighted that so many students took the opportunity to attend the residential trip as it really is beneficial now and later in course.”
