Carr Hill’s IT Services recently replaced the school’s network and wireless infrastructure and as part of the upgrade were able to donate former equipment to Anchorsholme Academy.

The primary school benefitted from items such as networking hardware, access points and switches. The donated system, which matched the school’s main wireless system, means it will be a number of years before the primary school needs to replace much of its wireless infrastructure.

Anchorsholme Academy Network Manager Mr McGinnis said: “   All the pupils and staff wish to thank Carr Hill High School for their kind donation of their former wireless system. This will not only help replace our older system which is still in place in some areas of the school, but also increase the wireless coverage in areas of the school which currently do not have coverage.”

Carr Hill’s IT Network Manager Mr Timoroksa said: ““Following a meeting at the Association of Network Managers in Education we discovered we were in a position to help a local primary school following the planned upgrade of the network at Carr Hill. We are pleased to have been able to donate the equipment we were updating and for it to be used to continue to help other students”

Carr Hill’s new network infrastructure means students now benefit from improved wireless speed, coverage and performance around all areas of the school.
