The recent Enrichment Showcase was a huge success with a wide range of acts including singing, dancing, cheerleading, a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party piece by the Enrichment drama students and a fashion show displaying garments made by Carr Hill textiles students.
Mr Earnshaw said: “The Enrichment activities are a huge success and this event proved that.
“This was a great display of school spirit with some fantastic acts on show and I am delighted so many students were able to show off what they have been doing.
“The Carr Hill Enrichment programme is giving the students a great opportunity to try something new, build confidence and find new hobbies.”
“The very wide range of activities taken by our students is unique in the local area and having them during the school day makes all the difference. Our aim is to broaden students’ horizons by giving them experiences they might not get elsewhere.”

Uniform & Self Esteem Briefing

Uniform, Pride, and Achievement

The Governors of Carr Hill High School and Sixth Form Centre require the school to promote among students the traditional values of respect, pride and good behaviour because this helps them achieve more highly in school. We expect our students to be role models in the community. High quality uniform, branded with our long-established dove logo, worn consistently by all students, and which is required equally of every student, is fundamental to these traditional values. Our students represent the school and its values when they are on the school grounds; travelling to and from school; during community events; on local and national educational visits and when visiting other schools.

12 July 2010

Dear Parent/Carer and Student,

Thank you to the hundreds of families who have attended our first ever College-based Celebration Events in the last two weeks. Each one has been unique reflecting the different values, talents, and approaches of the staff and students who make up each College. As I said at the Mercury College event, each of us is indeed made of ‘stardust’, the matter that makes everything in the universe. I see our job at Carr Hill as finding the stardust in everyone, students and staff, and helping it shine through. There has been a lot of ‘shining’ recently.
