Faculty of Social Sciences

The Faculty of Social Sciences encourages students to look at the world around them a little more closely- with society at the heart of learning for all pupils choosing to study Psychology, RS, Sociology and/or Health & Social Care. During these courses sociology teachers ask students to look and question everything from socialisation, culture and identity, whilst pupils studying psychology will analyse cognitive, social, biological, developmental, individual differences and research methods. The RS course helps students develop their interest in, and enthusiasm for, a rigorous study of Religion and its relation to the wider world. Those students choosing to study Health & Social Care will develop a solid knowledge and understanding of issues affecting the health and social sector and skills that will enable them to make an effective contribution to that sector.
