Curriculum Information

We offer a broad and balanced curriculum, recognised by Ofsted as one of the strengths of our school, which enables our students to pursue their talents and aspirations in Languages, Literature, the Arts, the Humanities, in Sport and the Sciences. Our Learning Support Department is very active supporting students who need additional help. Sixth Form Curriculum

Carr Hill is one of a small number of schools in Lancashire to offer its students Post-16 education. Opened in September 1979, the Sixth Form Centre has been extremely successful in preparing students for the GCE Advanced Level examinations and large numbers have proceeded to University and Higher Education each year. In 2009 Post 16 studies at Carr Hill entered a new era with the opening of a new dedicated £2.5million Sixth Form Centre.

Carr Hill is now seeing an ever increasing number of students opting to study here, both from the lower years of the school and other schools in the area. A wide variety of relevant and challenging courses are available, including a diverse range of Level 3 BTEC and diploma courses. We offer cutting edge courses to reflect student needs and in line with 21st Century Post 16 Study, while always maintaining high academic standards.  Please visit the sixth form section of the website for more information.
